This short story provides background for chapter 27 of Phoenix Database. CIA Agent Nick Edwards and his uncle, WW2 veteran Clayton Walker Harrison, battle Trao Van Nu, an agent for the Phoenix Empire.
Trao holds a grudge going back to Nick’s days as a Marine during the Vietnam War. A super advanced Russian sniper weapon was entrusted to Trao’s father, Nguyen, for field testing. After Nick captures the rifle for the CIA, communist forces execute Nguyen as a traitor. Trao will extract vengeance for his father. Descendants of the Edwards and Harrison families populate all the books of the Phoenix Apocalypse Series.
